3D Printing

What is 3D Printing?

Dental technology has gone a long way over the years and is continually advancing. Now more than ever, we are implementing 3D printing technology into our practice. This printing technology is allowing us to create different appliances that can be worn by our patients. The materials are solid, easy to mold and effective at treating an array of different problems.

Why’s 3D Printing needed?

We might use 3D printing for a variety of different applications. We will first examine your mouth and teeth to determine if and when you might benefit from this type of technology. Some of the different things we can make and do with our 3D printer include:

  • Mouth guards
  • Sleep apnea treatment devices
  • Crowns
  • Bridges
  • Surgical guides
  • Models

Who’s a candidate for 3D Printing?

Because 3D printing allows us to carefully craft a restoration for you, it is ideal for most patients coming into our office. This technology is more advanced in that it allows us to easily and carefully create applications that are specifically made for each individual patient. If you would like to learn more about this technology and how it is used, we suggest contacting us so that we can answer all of your questions.

What can you expect with 3D Printing?

We will first have you come in for a complete examination. This exam allows us to see if and when you’d benefit from 3D printing technology. While this printing technology is suitable for most patients, it isn’t ideal for every restoration available. Because of this, we will determine if it’ll be needed and can offer other options as needed. We will then use our special 3D printing machine that allows us to carefully create the restoration that will be used to improve your dental and oral health. We will then place the model into the mouth and adjust it as necessary so that it will fit comfortably and easily.

If you’re interested in our 3D printing technology, call us today and we can help to answer all of your questions.
